19 Dec Self-Driving Cars Have Double The Accidents To Comparable Human Drivers?
According to Bloomberg, self-driving cars are getting into twice as many crashes as their human counterparts.
Why?
Because the cars obey the laws and that becomes an issue because no one else does! The automated cars have to “know” what the other cars are doing and what they are going to do, but they just don’t, so when, as the story points out, a driverless car tries to get merge into traffic, it’s doesn’t “trust” the traffic will let the car in!
What would help if there were only driverless cars on the road, but that isn’t happening anytime soon. And there’s the issue with traffic lights, roundabouts, and keep with the traffic flow.
