29 Dec No More Check-Ins = No More Success For Foursquare
Once darling of the startup world, Foursquare is now close to life support. Per Inc., the social site has lost half it’s overall value as investors look elsewhere.
Foursquare is now looking at $20 to $40M in this round putting their valuation at $250M, half of what it once was.
That’s still a big company, but the market doesn’t take kindly to social sites going in the wrong direction, and that’s Foursquare. The service was best known for its check-in feature which they did away with, and things have been in decline since a split to the underwhelming Swarm app.
